· Chevrolet: Chevy was founded in 1911

· The American V-8 engine: First produced by Cadillac in 1914

· The Alaskan Way Viaduct: Built in 1953

· The Smith Tower: Construction started in 1911 and was finished in 1914

· The Lake Washington Ship Canal: Construction started in 1911 and it was dedicated on July 4, 1917 (Along with the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks)

· The Port of Seattle: On September 5, 1911, the people of King County voted to officially establish the Port of Seattle

· Boeing: On July 15, 1916, William Boeing incorporated his airplane manufacturing business as Pacific Aero Products Company; a year later, he changed the name to the Boeing Airplane Company

· The Titanic: Sea trials began on April 2, 1912 (they only lasted ½ a day)

· The Coast Guard: 28 January 1915 the Life-Saving Service and the Revenue Cutter Service combined to form the Coast Guard

· KIRO710 Radio: Hitting the air waves in 1927 as KPCB it became KIRO710 1935 when Saul Haas gained control of the station

· The Fremont Bridge: Built in 1917, it replaced the Stone Way Bridge that was built in 1911

· A woman's right to vote (in Washington): On November 8, 1910, Washington state's male electorate ratifies Amendment 6 to the state constitution granting women the right to vote
